Benny chooses to do his daily commute to and from work across Bend via his acoustic bicycle. When asked why he chooses to bike, Benny replied; “I like feeling the wind in my face and a sturdy steed under my legs. When in doubt, pedal it out. I feel safer on bike at some Bend intersections— what comes to mind is crossing or turning left onto Galveston Ave, cars have to be quick and assertive to complete such a maneuver. I can minimize risk and save time by dismounting my bike and using crosswalks“. He also added that he bikes as an effort to be more climate friendly in his daily life. Benny challenges himself to bike no matter what weather he is facing but admits somedays are just a little too cold to enjoy that bike ride to work.
